In January I received an email from Team for Youth Association telling me that I was accepted to be a member of their European Voluntary Service Project “ReAnimate”.
One new door was opening for me, this time with Romanian colors. Inside there, there was a little house but with a really big garden. The house was our project ReAnimate, whose point is to put smiles where there aren´t. We worked with children in hospital, orphanages and in a day center for disabled people.
The garden was Romania. A country full of surprises and really specials corners. When you are there you can´t understand why Romanian people have that bad fame. We learnt that if they can help you, they will help you, and if they can do something else for you, they will do it.
Our house had hundreds of windows. Windows to Turkey, Italy, France, Portugal… that our new European family put there to know their countries and cultures. Every day we learnt something new about them, maybe silly, maybe very interesting, but that is the real Europe for us and the real way to know the world.
And between that new sky and that new floor, we shared lots of moments, laughs, looks, thoughts… it was MAGIC.
Blanca (Spain) has been hosted by Team for Youth Association in Baia Mare, in the “ReAnimate” project, a European Voluntary Service, financed by the European Commission, within the Erasmus+ Programme.
