EVS Stories – The Learning Experience (II)

This month was about learning and experience.

Firstly, I was at Connector training together with other volunteers from our association. Although it was very intensive, I liked it very much because we had a lot of workshops from which to choose. My workshop was about public speaking, so I had the chance to learn a lot about myself and about how to speak in front of people.

Secondly, we started organizing the summer camps. I realized that the only difficult thing about the summer camp, is the language barrier, because the activities are easy to find and to make. But the most amazing point regarding the camps are the children, who like to meet new people and new cultures. I love to share my traditions with them and also, to learn theirs.

I also participated in the event that celebrated 20 years of EVS – EVS River. This was great for me, we spoke about the life of EVS volunteers, we met ex-EVS volunteers that spoke about their experience in EVS and their life after the service, with all the skills and abilities they gained. It was a moment of sharing emotions and because we were all new volunteers or ex-volunteers, we were able to understand each other at the same level.
