EVS. Let’s go back a couple of months, the year is 2017, it’s hot outside as most days in Malta are, a 17 year old, almost 18, looks down at his phone, and there it was, somewhere between a picture someone posted and an article about another new trend, three big words appeared on the screen ‘European Voluntary Service’ overlaying a picture and more text, all above a hyperlink asking whether or not one wanted to learn more.

Two months have gone by since I started my EVS journey in Baia Mare as part of a project with T4Uth. Time seems to pass by faster here, but I believe that time flies faster when you are in the place you’re meant to be. From the beginning of this experience, I felt welcomed and saw Baia Mare as my new home. This sensation wouldn’t have been possible if it wasn’t for my flatmates, my mentor, the hosting organization and its volunteers.

EVS in ROMANIA: Rural Summer Camps

The Rural Summer Camps is an EVS project involving 12 youngsters divided in 2 groups. The group will start the activities in the summer of 2019, and will involve 8 volunteers from 3 different countries: Italy, Spain and Portugal. The aim of this project is to create the learning opportunity for the kids from rural areas near Baia

First thought I had when we had to plan the camps was “this is going to be hard”, and I have to say I was somehow right. It’s not that easy to prepare a camp, especially if you never did it before! But that is the reason why you have a team, once you understand that everything gets much easier.
