I’m Rafa. 23 years old, I had to stop my last year in university, so I decided to do this EVS that really looked like a good opportunity for my future. My studies are in FR and ENG translation, so I decided to go in that in order to improve my skills, learn another language and learn from professionals in Romania.

Am auzit pentru prima oară de voluntariat în urmă cu 2 ani de la un membru al acestei asociații care mi-a sugerat să mă alatur echipei lor. În acel moment eram sceptic în privința importanței voluntariatului, reacția mea fiind una ușor ironică, însa concepția mea s-a schimbat integral. Totul a început datorită unei simple idei.

First week was hard to find my way, but finally all the volunteers helped me. I quickly adapted to the culture of Romania. The first month was the most important because I had to get used to plan and to prepare different activities.

So I left my temporary job, curious and scared at the same time, and I arrived in Baia Mare. Adapting to a new culture and a new language immediately wasn’t easy, but from the beginning of this experience, I have met people that helped me to feel good.
