Everybody has their own reasons for going abroad and experiencing the EVS volunteer program. I was really afraid of speaking English and my friends said I should do EVS and then I got this idea and my thinking was that it’s now or never.

Firstly, I was at Connector training together with other volunteers from our association. Although it was very intensive, I liked it very much because we had a lot of workshops from which to choose. My workshop was about public speaking, so I had the chance to learn a lot about myself and about how to speak in front of people.

Salut, eu sunt Camelia şi sunt unul dintre voluntarii asociaţiei “Team for Youth Association”. Sincer, deși am crescut şi m-am dezvoltat atât de mult în cadrul acestei asociaţii, niciodată nu voi uita cât de sfioasă am intrat prima dată pe portiţa de la sediu. Am început de la activităţi precum origami, la împărţit cartonaşe în diferite zile speciale pentru a le aminti oamenilor că merită să te bucuri de orice lucru mărunt.

We began to work for the Ioana Maria Association, which was created by a parent of the child with disabilities. It’s a very exciting and really interesting job. We take care of children with the help of some parents, and also Alex, psychotherapist, who is an amazing person. We organize courses with different things, the goal being to improve their physical abilities and the capacity of concentration.
