An ESC project was a good mix between those points. When I applied to this project, I had no idea what to expect ; I didn’t know Romania at all, and it was a bit blurry concerning the activities that I was going to do.

I haven’t really struggled studying Russian and I didn’t need it that much either. But living and volunteering 2 months in Belarus requires from time to time some language skills. Intro Belarus has 2 speaking languages: Belarusian and Russian. Although in Minsk everybody speaks Russian, there are lots of villages and towns where people speak

Geta is waiting for me with hot coffee and an omelette with cheese and salami. She invites me to smoke a cigarette on her terrace. Then I get in her grey Octavia and she takes me to the station. She hugs me, we wish each other the best and I get on the bus to go home: Baia Mare.
